On April 24th, I presented my research at the annual ANAGPIC conference. If you saw my talk and have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave a comment on this post.

Also, I finally got around to scanning the instructional sheets included with my Chartex samples.

I used Chartex as a backing to a Wyoming geological map years back. The map’s author, the late Dr. Dave Love, told me how to apply the backing so I could use the map in the field. The process involves cutting the map into rectangles, leaving about 1/8 inch between each rectangle when ironing the map onto the backing, which remains the full size of the original map (plus 1/8″ times x pieces).
This arrangement allows the folding of the map in many ways so that almost any panel can be viewed alone. I take it on all road trips.
Love warned that I would mix up two of the rectangles sooner or later. I scoffed at this, but he was right.
So I heated up the misplaced piece, removed it and placed it in the right location.
I am looking for a source for another map.
